Happi Avocados is spread across the beautiful tropical Far North Queensland. We are nestled amongst the spectacular Great Barrier Reef and the oldest rainforest in the world, making our farms the perfect environment for premium avocados. Across the Happi Avocados farms throughout Far North Queensland, we grow two different varieties, these varieties are called  Hass and Shepard.

Happi Avocados can supply delicious avocados to Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Japan from January through to August! Other destinations may be possible upon arrangement.

Shepard avocados

  • Stays green, even when ripe

  • Glossy skin

  • Longer in shape

  • Smooth, buttery texture

Shepards are harvested from January through to April. They can be distinguished by their glossy green skin and and slightly longer shape. The Shepard variety does not turn black when ripe and has been described as having a butter-like texture.

Hass avocados

  • Skin changes from green to dark purple

  • Rough skin

  • Rounder in shape

  • Creamy texture

The ever-popular Hass avocado is the most common variety across Australia and can be easily identified by the rough skin that changes from green to dark purple as it ripens. Hass avocados are harvested throughout the months April to August.
